Batavia youth offer Cookie Walk Dec. 14-15
Batavia Youth Offer Holiday Baking Services to Community
Finding time to bake the perfect Christmas cookies for upcoming holiday festivities may be adding stress for many who find themselves with endless “to do” lists during this busy time of year.
Youth from the Batavia Methodist Church have the perfect solution to help area residents prepare for the upcoming holidays. On Saturday, December 14th and Sunday, December 15th, they will present their 2013 Cookie Walk for all those would like to offer holiday cheer without spending hours in the kitchen. Shoppers can select from a wide variety of delicious homemade treats available from 9 a.m. to noon at the church's fellowship hall. Containers will be provided and cookies will be sold at $6.50 per pound with all proceeds going to support youth mission projects.
“We're excited to help our students raise the necessary funds for our summer mission trip back to Appalachia,” said Susan Palmer, Director of Youth Ministries, at Batavia United Methodist Church. “We partner with the Appalachia Service Project to bring vital home repairs and other services for needy families in the Appalachia Mountain area,” she added. “We have several fundraising projects throughout the year but this one is definitely the most fun and the favorite for many of us! Everyone is invited to come and shop our Cookie Walk for their favorites and bring home a little Christmas cheer without having the messy kitchen to clean up afterwards. We have some really talented and creative bakers who will be showing off at our event so please come early on December 14th and 15th to get the best selection of holiday cookies for your upcoming events. “
