Waukegan police investigate sexual assault

Waukegan police continue to investigate a sexual assault that took place Thursday near Belvidere Road and Jackson Street.

A 17-year-old girl told police that a man driving an early 2000s gold Nissan Pathfinder approached her in the early evening hours Thursday and sexually assaulted her.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his early 40s who is about 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He was last seen driving the Pathfinder.
