Elgin tech center offers “Hour of Code”
The Elgin Technology Center participated Monday in a national initiative that encourages students to learn how to write code.
An “Hour of Code” event was held at the new home for the tech center on Riverside Drive. Participants included U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren and Elgin City Council member Terry Gavin.
ETC is a co-working space, providing an open office environment for budding entrepreneurs for a $100 month-to-month membership, or private office space for $1.25 per square foot aimed at small startup or existing tech-related businesses. The co-working space provides shared amenities, 24-hour access and the opportunity to interact regularly with other creative, entrepreneurial, tech-minded people. ETC board members were on hand Monday to give tours of the space.
