Downtown Elgin’s windows light up with ‘Holiday Traditions Around the World’ Dec. 7

Submitted by DNA of Elgin

The 15th annual Downtown Elgin Window Wonderland returns from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. The theme of this year’s event is “Holiday Traditions Around the World — Celebrating the Sights, Sounds and Scents of the Season!”

This year’s activities include the time honored tradition of decorated store front windows, roasting of chestnuts, decorating cookies, and holiday music by Dave Newton Music.

Plus, you can visit Santa’s real live reindeer, stop by Elgin Police Department open house, do a figure-8 at City Skate, enjoy the sounds of Jazz Consortium Big Band, write holiday letters to soldiers, or relax on the carriage ride, sponsored by Dave Newton Music.

It all leads up to the city of Elgin tree lighting ceremony with the arrival of Santa at 5 p.m.
