Resurrection gives Carmel its first loss

Carmel Catholic’s girls basketball team saw its undefeated start to the season end Thursday night.

Resurrection knocked off the visiting Corsairs 48-44 in nonconference action in Chicago.

Resurrection improved to 5-2, while dropping Carmel to 6-1.

Kathleen Felicelli’s 11 points led the Corsairs. Cassidy Kloss and Emma Rappe contributed 10 apiece.

North Chicago 49, Lakes 30: The visiting Warhawks improved to 2-5 and 1-1 in the North Suburban Prairie Division.

Lakes fell to 0-7 and 0-2 in the NSC Prairie.
