Boy Scout Troop 140 to celebrate 50th anniversary

For more than 50 years, Boy Scout Troop 140 out of Buffalo Grove has contributed to the local community and helped train young men in leadership skills. The troop is commemorating its 50-year anniversary at a special Court of Honor celebration at 6 p.m. on February 8, 2014 at St. Mary Church in Buffalo Grove.

Through pictures, memorabilia and video, the anniversary celebration will take a look back at the highlights of the troop over the past 50 years. The troop has interviewed original members of the troop, scoutmasters and members throughout the years. The interviews have been included in a video that highlights the history of the troop in Buffalo Grove. Photos and Boy Scout memorabilia will be on display for attendees to take a look back at the troop's accomplishments. The troop will also be looking forward with an awards ceremony and Court of Honor. Following the presentation and awards, dinner will be served.
