Execs rigging system to boost the wealthy?

Walmart has reportedly posted signs asking employees to donate food items for other employees who are in need. The sad truth is that many of Walmart’s employees earn such low wages that they need aid. Walmart also reportedly gives its employees information on how to apply for Medicaid and food stamps.

The Walmart family’s wealth is equivalent to the wealth of the bottom 40 percent of all Americans. How can those who benefit from Walmart’s billions in profit justify paying pitifully low wages and asking those same underpaid workers to help other underpaid workers? How can they justify paying pitifully low wages while expecting taxpayers to subsidize their employees with food stamps and health care? Employees working for such low wages that they are eligible for taxpayer subsidies so that stockholders can earn billions in profits?

Is this the “free market” at work or is this the system being rigged to benefit the wealthy few at the expense of the rest of us?
