A man draws on a Blu brand electronic cigarette at an outdoor music event near the Bartlett Nature Center in September, where smoking of tobacco products is allowed. In the last two months, I have witnessed people using electronic cigarettes in department stores, eating establishmens, Metra train stations, Sears Centre and public locations outside where smoking is not allowed. You cannot smell e-cigarette vapor even if it is blown in your face. Electronic cigarettes are battery-powered devices which mimic cigarettes by vaporizing a nicotine-laced liquid which is inhaled by the user. There is a push for laws on usage and advertisement of electronic cigarettes that would match the laws on tobacco usage.
