Cardinal says Mass in Buffalo Grove to close ‘Day of Catholic Education’

Cardinal Francis George said Mass Saturday evening at St. Mary Parish in Buffalo Grove to close a daylong conference on Catholic education on a high note.

The Education Committee of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council sponsored the “Day of Catholic Education” for all Catholics in the archdiocese.

The day gave attendees the chance to listen, learn, discuss and ask questions about the church’s standpoint on some of the hot topics of the day, including religious freedom, same-sex marriage, gay acceptance, homosexuality, abortion and immigration, according to information promoting the day.
