Chicago man gets prison time for third DUI
A Chicago man convicted twice before for driving while intoxicated pleaded guilty this week to DUI charges stemming from a June arrest in Hoffman Estates.
Juan Adame, 28, was sentenced to three years in prison, with a recommendation for the state’s boot camp program, court records show.
Hoffman Estates police arrested Adame about 2 a.m. June 7 near Route 62 and Ela Road after they observed him swerving over the centerline, prosecutors said during Adame’s bond hearing. His blood alcohol content registered .18, prosecutors said.
Adame was convicted in 2008 for DUI and again in 2009, at which time he was sentenced to 18 months.
Adame received credit for the 165 days he has spent in custody since his arrest. He was also ordered to pay $1,849 in fines.
