Outlook: It all starts in the frontcourt for the Lions. Harvest Christian Academy returns 6-foot-7 senior John Vislisel and 6-6 senior Dan Turpin from a team that set multiple program records last season, including single-season victories (17), consecutive victories (8) and most conference wins (6). Vislisel led the Lions in scoring last season with 13.3 ppg to go with 6.5 rebounds. Turpin led the team in rebounding (7.0) and contributed 8.1 ppg. Sophomore Brett Cramer gives the squad additional rebounding potential in the post. The big men are balanced on the perimeter by returning senior guard Noah Fox, a deft ballhandler who averaged 7.7 points as a junior. The Lions did lose guard Kyle Fritz, who transferred. He averaged 7.1 points and 2.7 assists last season. Some of Fritz’s minutes will go to promising freshman guard Riley Steiner. Second-year coach Jeff Boldog hopes the Lions’ blend of veterans and talented younger players leads to another successful season. “This year we hope to continue making strides and building on that success,” Boldog said. “We need to keep working hard and work to get better every day. We lost some key senior leaders, and the younger players will have to step up.”
