If ACA online’s not working, enroll by phone
I have never been a fan of media bashing. In my view the great majority of the media does its best to report the news without bias, and when bias is evident that is also reported. However, I am astonished that, with respect to Obamacare, neither the newspapers nor the television news nor the radio news is doing anything but reporting the difficulties in accessing Obamacare through the Internet.
All you have to do is use the telephone. Available 24/7, you can complete the entire application process from beginning to end with information you provide over the phone by calling (800) 318-2596. This includes reviewing your options and getting help to enroll in a plan
You can also fill out an online application by calling that number.
You can also fill out a paper application by calling that number, again, (800) 318-2596
All of this information is available on the Obamacare website, Healthcare.gov. On that site you can get local help by entering your ZIP code.
Or visit LocalHelp.HealthCare.gov to find help in your area. You can search by city and state or ZIP code to see a list of local organizations with contact information, office hours and types of help offered.
We have been bombarded with criticism of the Affordable Care Act Internet access, but why, why, why aren’t the media interested in giving us the above useful information at the same time? Have you seen it or heard it in the media while all the criticism is going on? I haven’t.
By the way, there is no hurry. Open enrollment closes March 31.
