Hawks Rally but Fall Short at Morton
The Harper College women's basketball team erased a 10-point halftime deficit to take the lead over Morton College on Tuesday night but could not close out the game and fell 57-54.
The Hawks (0-6) trailed 31-21 at halftime but slowly crept back into the game in the second half. They took a lead with just under four minutes to play but could not hold on.
Monica Hinderer (Arlington Heights, Ill./The Willows Academy) had a monstrous game, scoring 22 points and grabbing 19 rebounds. Rachel Payne (Wheeling, Ill./Schaumburg Christian Academy) scored 17 points on 7-of-16 shooting. The Hawks struggled from the field as a team, shooting 27.6 percent (21-of-76).
Up next for the Hawks is a road game at McHenry County College at 5:15 PM Thursday.
