Teacher felt need to remain calm for students

Many years ago while I was teaching in a junior high school, an announcement came over the loudspeaker that President Kennedy had been assassinated. My students were devastated and scared by the news. I remember consciously forcing myself to remain calm and in control of my emotions while I was comforting them during this unexpected moment. This recollection is so clear in my mind that I sometimes have flashbacks of that day 50 years ago.
