Outlook: As she begins her second season as the Eagles coach, Drewann Pancratz hopes to see more improvement. “We are a very young program and striving to continue to build on last year’s success,” said the former Schaumburg and Carthage basketball and volleyball standout. “We have one of our most talented freshmen groups in Leyden history, and we’re excited for the up-and-coming season.” Key returners are junior guard Alondra Chavarria and senior posts Liz McCluskey and Jennifer Lazcano. Pancratz has high expectations for Gusman, Miranda, Hernandez and Elliot. “Our newcomers bring contagious energy and an eagerness to succeed,” the coach added. “We are very excited for the up-and-coming season and the future of this program.” Pancratz’s mother Jeanette is the longtime successful volleyball coach at Schaumburg High School.
