Aurora man accused of molesting 7-year-old

An Aurora man was arrested last week and charged with sexually assaulting a child last summer in Kendall County, police announced Wednesday.

Joseph J. Evans, 38, of the 1500 block of Galway Drive, was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The victim’s mother told police in June 2012 that her 7-year-old daughter had been sexually assaulted by Evans, an acquaintance of the Oswego family, police said. A Kendall County warrant was issued in July. Evans was arrested in Chicago Friday and remains in custody in the Cook County jail.
