Buffalo Grove tax levy up 1.96 percent

Buffalo Grove’s municipal tax levy is going up 1.96 percent to $13,695,228 for all levies except debt service, Finance Director Scott Anderson said last week. Anderson added that the three special purpose pension levies for municipal employees, police and firefighters — which are included in the levy — will decrease by 3.1 percent and 4.82 percent and increase by 7.56 percent, respectively. He said the increase in the firefighters’ pension levy is a product of the recent wave of retirements.
