Elgin woman, 19, found unresponsive, dies in hospital

Elgin police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old woman, authorities said.

T’Keyah Marshall was found unresponsive at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday after members of the Elgin police and fire departments responded to a call for medical assistance at Marshall’s residence in the 400 block of Center Street in Elgin, police said Thursday afternoon in a news release.

Marshall was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin, where she was pronounced dead.

The results of an autopsy performed by the Kane County Coroner’s office Thursday morning are pending further medical examination, police said.
