Health care law was destined to cost us more

In 2009, I wrote a letter that appeared on this page regarding the problems the Affordable Care Act would bring to the middle class. When those of us who cared to really look at this proposal warned of the inevitable rise in costs and the fact that there is no way you would be able to stay on the plans you like, we were called partisan bomb throwers. Well here we are, and there is more to come, and it will hit all the soccer moms who continue to support an administration that flat-out misleads them.

I have worked in the health care industry for 25 years and cannot articulate all the unintended problems the ACA will bring to soccer-loving families like yours and mine in 300 words. Here are just a few you will start hearing over the next year: You will be told your doctor is no longer in your plan, or that your doctor is retiring early. You will hear about friends and family who are losing their insurance plan as it does not now meet ACA regulations. You will hear about many being forced to the insurance marketplace and they will pay thousands more per year.

In 2014, we can all vote for politicians who will rewrite this law to cover pre-existing conditions, cover kids to 26 and lower costs and much more. Tort reform, buying over state lines, and many other free-market solutions that will cost you nothing. If you continue to vote to support this law it is all on you.
