Des Plaines Toys for Tots event Saturday

The Des Plaines Youth Commission is hosting a Toys for Tots Family Blast Saturday that includes activities for children and families.

Attendees are invited to bring a new toy for the Marines Toys for Tots drive and one can of food for the Des Plaines Self Help Closet and Food Pantry.

There will be a bounce house, inflatable golf, basketball, a steeplechase run and long jump, bingo, arts and crafts, storytime, Dance Dance Revolution, a scavenger hunt, Jenga blocks, face painting, and food and beverages.

The event is scheduled from 6 to 8:45 p.m. at Prairie Lakes Community Center, 515 E. Thacker St. Admission is free.
