Palatine Food Drive kicks off 10th season of giving

The 10th annual Palatine Food Drive is now underway with drop boxes located throughout the village to accept nonperishable food items along with baby formula and diapers for young families in need.

The drive, which benefits the Palatine Township Food Pantry, continues through Monday, Nov. 25, when organizer Lavelle Law Ltd. and other volunteers will collect items and deliver them to the food pantry.

“We feel very fortunate to be able to rally the community each year for the past decade to help serve the growing number of families in need,” said drive coordinator Heather Slipkevych.

Residents are encouraged to make their donations at any of the following Palatine locations: Buehler YMCA, 1400 W. Northwest Highway; Ace Hardware, 239 E. Northwest Highway; Palatine Bank and Trust, 110 W. Palatine Road; Palatine Opportunity Center, 1585 Rand Road; Birchwood Recreation Center, 435 W. Illinois Ave.; Chandelier Boutique, 17 W. Wilson; Palatine Park District, 250 East Wood St.; Palatine Village Hall, 200 E. Wood St.;, UPS Store, 738 E. Dundee Road; Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 N. Hicks Road; Golf Nation, 399 N. Quentin Road; the Palatine Police Department, 200 E. Wood St.; BMO Harris Bank, 50 N. Brockway; The Christian Shop, 325 E. Dundee Road; D’Vine Wine, 742 E. Dundee Road; and Sunmade Cleaners, 59 E. Palatine Road; as well as Lavelle Law Ltd, 501 W. Colfax.
