The Early History of Water Street in Naperville

As disclosed this week, the Hotel Indigo Naperville is going to be built on Water Street in Naperville facing the Riverwalk. But as disclosed by lifelong Naperville resident, Kathy Keroson, this is the same location where there used to be three old, wooden buildings with saloons and apartments on the main floor, and 15 single rooms rented to permanent residents upstairs as reported on October 20, 1955, in the Naperville Sun. Now Kathy Keroson has disclosed that her great grandparents, Anton and Elizabeth Jelinek, and her grandparents, George and Marie Keroson, used to live there. And Kathy's father, Otto Keroson, was born there in December 1924. This information also appears in Kathy's soon-to-be-released book, "The Sixth Generation Napervillian."
