4th Annual Arlington Food Drive Underway

Collection boxes are now in place at locations all across Arlington Heights for the 4th Annual Arlington Food Drive. Sponsored by Lavelle Law, Ltd. the drive will support the Wheeling Township Food Pantry. Donations can be made through Monday, November 25th.

“We are pleased to announce that we have more donation boxes available than ever before,” said Food Drive coordinator Heather Slipkevych. “Our efforts in Arlington Heights continue to grow and we are again counting on the generosity of local residents and businesses to support those in need this holiday season.” Residents are encouraged to provide non-perishable food items as well as items that may be needed by young families such as baby formula and diapers. The drive is overseen by the law firm’s philanthropic group, Lavelle Law Charities.

Drop box locations include: The Peoples’ Bank of Arlington Heights, 41 South Vail and 1104 South Arlington Heights Road, The Arlington Heights Police Station, 200 East Sigwalt, and many Arlington Heights Park District locations including Heritage Park, 506 West Victoria, Camelot Park, 1005 East Suffield, Frontier Park, 1933 North Kennicott, Recreation Park Center, 500 East Miner, Pioneer Park, 500 South Fernandez, Olympic Indoor Swim Center, 660 North Ridge, and the Park District Administration Center, 410 North Arlington Heights Road. Other local businesses participating are Forbici Salon & Spa, 7 South Highland Avenue, Salon 117 & Essence Day Spa, Tropical Smoothie Café, 315 East Rand Road, Tuscan Market & Wine Shop, 141 West Wing Street, and the UPS Store, 309 East Rand Road.

The drive relies on corporate sponsorships as well. This year’s contributors include Centrella Foods, Strak & van Til, Berkot’s Super Foods, WiseWay, La Chiquita Supermercado, Walt’s, Tony’s Finer Foods, Sunset Foods, Eurofresh Market, Rooney Landscaping, and Integrity Packaging Solutions. “We appreciate the donations made by all of our sponsors which make our efforts so much more productive,” said Slipkevych.

All materials collected during the Arlington Food Drive are delivered by the Lavelle staff and other volunteers to the Wheeling Township Food Panty. The organization relies on donations from local food drives and the Lavelle Law Charities Arlington Food Drive has been a contributor since 2010. The firm has received numerous commendations and awards for their charitable efforts, including multiple acknowledgments for their efforts in addressing the growing concern of hunger in the suburban area through their annual food drives.
