Sashko to be honored:

Mundelein Fire Chief Tim Sashko will be honored Saturday when he is presented with the 2013 Most Innovative Blood Drive Coordinator State Award by the Illinois Coalition of Community Blood Drive Centers. The presentation is at 11:30 a.m. at the Mundelein Fire Department, 1000 N. Midlothian Road. Sashko developed the “Firefighters Blood Donor Challenge,” which has grown from three to 36 participating fire departments in the last five years. He will receive a copy of House Resolution 611, honoring his achievements, introduced by State Rep. Ed Sullivan, and he’ll receive a Senate Congratulatory Certificate on behalf of State Sen. Dan Duffy.
