Arlington Hts. to sponsor Art Around the Town studio tour
For one day only, visitors can get a glimpse of local artists’ creative spaces. From 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 16 artists will participate in the Art Around the Town studio tour.
The studio tour and artwork sale will be open to the public for one afternoon only. Take this opportunity to meet local artists, tour their studios and purchase original art. All types of art media are represented in the tour, including painting, stained glass, photography, watercolors, drawing, and ceramics.
Participating artists and studios are: Romel de la Torre of Elysian Studio; Anne Kauff and Eileen Jorgensen of the Jorgensen Studio; Will Hamm’s Stained Glass; Thrown Elements Pottery; Bruce Pattie, Mary Hart and Susan Thomson of Spiritual Focus Photography; Kate Tully, Lynnea Semasko, Bill Kruser and Cindy Kuffel of Images by David Kay; Sam Ashford of Ashford Gallery; Tim Rodanhisler of Stonegatewest Art; Tobi Abrams, Nancy Strahinic, and the Arlington Heights Park District Art Studio of Pioneer Park.
The tour begins at the Arlington Heights Historical Museum’s Heritage Gallery, 112 W. Fremont St. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Registration may be done at the door the day of the event. Wristbands are required for admission to the studios.
Participants will receive a booklet directing them to the participating studios, but will need to provide their own transportation. Refreshments and restrooms will be available at the museum.
