Use purple lights for Domestic Violence Month

The Biggers Auto Group in Elgin has teamed up with the Community Crisis Center in Elgin and your local police department to help shine a light on domestic violence.

During Domestic Violence Month in October, residents of Elgin, St. Charles and surrounding communities are encouraged to use a purple light on their front lights or porches in solidarity.

Biggers Chevrolet and Biggers Mazda on Route 19, just west of Route 59, are providing purple lights at their dealerships. Additionally, Biggers will make a donation to the Crisis Center for every bulb it distributes.

Jim Leichter, president of Biggers Auto Group, hopes this effort will raise awareness of the crime and its many victims.
