Des Plaines Police Host Cops For Coats

In an effort to assist families in Maine Township, the Des Plaines Police Department, in partnership with Park Ridge and Niles Police, will participate in Cops For Coats, providing a drop box for clean, gently worn coats in the lobby of the Police Department, 1418 Miner Street, until Wednesday, November 13, 2013.

Coats collected during the Cops For Coats drive will be distributed to Maine Township residents, 9 AM – 2 PM, Saturday, November 16, 2013, Maine Township Hall, 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge, Illinois.

“With the holidays approaching many of our residents are thinking about ways we can help others. Cops For Coats provides this opportunity. People may bring gently worn, clean winter coats, that they wish to discard, to the Des Plaines Police Station 24 hours a day,” Des Plaines Police Officer Michael Heidkamp said.

Coats will also be accepted at the following: Park Ridge Police Department, 200 S. Vine Street, Park Ridge, Il, 847-318-5252, or Niles Police Department, 7000 W. Touhy Avenue, 847-588-6500.
