Des Plaines Camera Club announces contest winners

The Des Plaines Camera Club offers members the opportunity to enter images into competition in both print and electronic formats.

Between September and May, Image of the Month awards, Print of the Month, as well as Awards and Honorable Mentions are presented for both formats. The first competition of the 2013-2014 season occurred Monday, Sept. 23.

The winners are:

Digital Print Image (DPI) of the month was a sweep for photographer Tom Mulick with “Rainbow over Nova Scotia Lighthouse” DPI for October; and“Morain Lake Canada” DPI for November.

Print of the Month, October, was awarded to Mary Doody for “Reflection.”

Print of the Month, November, was awarded to John Peterson for “Back Entrance.”

In addition, awards went to Sue Lindell for “Don’t Fence Me In” and “Peaceful Pasture;” Oliver Guevarra for “The Mittens;” and Honorable Mentions to Oliver Guevarra, for “Fabyan Windmill” and “All Mine;” John Kowalyk for “Posing” and “Uncle Joe;” Larry Michalski for “Glacier Bay;” and Tom Mulick for “Approaching Storm in the Badlands.”

Whatever level of interest in photography you have, all are invited to attend a meeting. The Des Plaines Camera Club meets the second and fourth Monday of each month, September through May, at 7 p.m. in the Des Plaines Park District Arndt Field House, 1990 White St., in Des Plaines.
