Don’t allow life’s labels to define you
Our society has become overwhelmed by labels.
Besides the labels on blue jeans, gym shoes, and other paraphernalia, some of us are wearing the labels of life.
Some of life’s labels can be harsh and hard, designed to designate us as “stupid, worthless, or least likely to succeed.” Oftentimes, these labels brand us for life.
Some labels may have been placed on us by life’s circumstances. Others come from classmates or ourselves due to our own lack of self-esteem.
Identifying that we are wearing faulty labels is the first line of defense in removing them. Building up our worth and value by pointing out our strengths can place the label of confidence on our hearts.
Understanding that each one of us was designed by God for a specific purpose can reinforce our spiritual well-being. Reminding ourselves each day that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14) is another positive reinforcement.
Doing all we can to foster an understanding of our self-worth can help change our viewpoint of any wrong labels that life has thrust on us and attached to our mind.
Telling ourselves the truth, over time, can set us on the path to success.
