Tea Party revels in misery of others
Tea Party revels in misery of others
On the day I should have been celebrating my 40 year federal service anniversary, 75 percent of my co-workers were furloughed. I’m lucky to be working, but who knows when I’ll see my next paycheck.
Tea Party Republicans hate the “Obama” government and those who work for it, and will do anything they can to prove that it doesn’t work. The constant Republican berating of federal employees is un-American and unpatriotic. Federal workers have suffered through the last four years with pay freezes, no overtime pay, cuts to performance awards, furlough days due to sequestration, and now being completely laid off. Many other middle class families have suffered similarly. As a result, the economy suffers for it, too. How can one make a major purchase when one’s next pay check is in doubt?
Most disgustingly, I’ve read cheers could be heard behind the closed door meetings of the House Republican caucus just hours before the shutdown. Tea Partyers seem to revel in the misery of others.
What next, Republicans celebrating cutting SNAP benefits to feed poor women and children? Oh, sorry, that’s already happened.
