Elk Grove joins Take-Back Initiative

The Elk Grove Village Police Department encourages residents to bring their outdated or unwanted medications to the police building, 901 Wellington Ave., from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. The National Take-Back Initiative is held to get potentially dangerous drugs out of homes and disposed of safely. The service is free and anonymous. Liquids, intravenous solutions and syringes will not be taken. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, or the home medicine cabinet.
