Palatine Fire Dept. to hold open house Oct. 5
The Palatine Fire Department will hold its annual open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Station 84, 220 W. Illinois Ave.
The family-friendly, interactive event will feature fire and rescue vehicles, displays of emergency equipment, station tours and refreshments. The tentative schedule includes a “Mr. Wizard” fire behavior demonstration at 11 a.m., vehicle extrication demonstration at 11:45 a.m., live fire/sprinkler room demonstration at 12:30 p.m. and the Flight for Life helicopter at 1 p.m.
Representatives from the Palatine Police Department, Palatine Emergency Management Agency, Nicor, ComEd, Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Flight for Life and Northwest Central Dispatch also will attend.
