Lake Zurich fire open house

The Lake Zurich Fire Department hosts its annual open house on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Station One, 321 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. The event features dive tank and emergency services demonstrations, a car extrication and fire extinguisher information. There will also be a puppet show, Sparky the Dog, the fire pole and rides on the antique fire truck. The event is part of fire prevention week, Oct. 6-12, where the theme is Prevent Kitchen Fires.
