Friends, family hold massive search for missing Lake Villa man

More than 100 volunteers searched a more than 200-square-mile area looking for missing Lake Villa man Nicholas Steward on Sunday afternoon, according to ABC 7.

The search started in Lake Forest and included areas between Steward’s home in Lake Villa and his office in Wood Dale.

Steward was last seen on Sept. 20, but he did not return home from work that afternoon. The I-PASS in his white 2008 Saturn registered at the Touhy toll plaza on I-294 that evening, according to police.

The event was organized by the Find Nick Steward Facebook page, which had more than 12,000 followers as of Sunday night.

Steward is married and the father of a 1-year-old son.

So far there is no evidence of foul play.

Steward is 5’10” tall and weighs about 175 pounds, with brown hair and eyes.

Lake Villa police officials said they are continuing their investigation, but have no new leads, as the Lake County Task Force also joined the investigation, according to ABC 7.
