A 22-year-old Round Lake Beach man faces multiple drug-related felony charges after authorities say they discovered cocaine, marijuana and other drugs in his possession during a raid Friday night.

Miguel A. Martinez Jr., who police described as an active gang member, was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and one count each of unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of cannabis after a search warrant was executed about 8 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of Wildwood Drive.

Police said officers found nine clear plastic bags containing approximately 27 grams of cocaine, multiple containers holding about 540 grams of marijuana, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, a clear plastic bag containing 17 OxyContin pills, packaging material and $664 cash.

“Gang officers will continue targeting local gangs until the message is clear ‘Not here, not in our community’,” Round Lake Park Police Chief George Filenko said in a news release.

Martinez is being held on $100,000 bond at the Lake County jail. He could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of the most serious charges against him. He is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 27.
