Volunteers needed to help clean Fox River

The Friends of the Fox River, in conjunction with the city of Batavia, is sponsoring a cleanup along the Fox River in Batavia. Meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Blackard Skate & Bike Park, 411 S. River St., Batavia. The cleanup will be held until noon.

Friends of the Fox River encourages everyone to bring their own garbage bags and gloves. Don’t worry, if you forget there will be extras. In addition, snacks and water will be provided. Sturdy shoes and sunscreen are recommended.

All participants must sign a waiver, and volunteers younger than 18 will require a parental signature.
