Buffalo Grove Fire Department hosts open house

The Buffalo Grove Fire Department will host its 18th annual open house 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the headquarters station, 109 E. Deerfield Parkway.

There will demonstrations of vehicle extrication, hands-on fire extinguisher training for adults, the junior firefighter challenge, and the Kids Fire Safety Smoke House for children. There will be fire department equipment displays, puppet shows, and an appearance by the Flight for Life helicopter. There will also be free hot dogs, popcorn, and firehouse chili.
