HandsOn Suburban Chicago honors 101 Best and Brightest Companies

Chicago area businesses firmly believe that the success of their employees is integral to the success of their business.

They have many programs and initiatives dedicated to supporting the growth and development of their employees. Those companies that have done it best were recognized as “Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” at an annual awards competition sponsored by the National Association for Business Resources.

The winning corporations succeeded in 10 different areas, including community initiative, which shows the organization’s commitment to improving the local community while providing the encouragement and time for employees to participate in a meaningful way.

To underscore the importance of community initiatives in the workplace, the theme of this year’s awards event was “Community Impact: The Power of the Best.” HandsOn Suburban Chicago is a Community Resource Partner of “Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” program.

HOSC works closely with corporations on their community initiatives by bringing nonprofit organizations and corporations together in activities that strengthen the ability of the nonprofit to serve the community.

HOSC works with a number of outstanding corporations that provide their employees with multiple community initiatives throughout the year.

HOSC nominated Capgemini for this year’s recognition for providing in-depth technology assessments for local Chicago area nonprofit organizations though the HandsOn Tech Chicago Program.

Capgemini was selected as one of this year’s Best and Brightest Companies to work for.

“We are pleased that Capgemini received this award,” said Kerstin Rust of the HandsOn Tech team. “Capgemini provided 20 employees this year who volunteered their time and skills, developing recommendations to address the top technology challenges in over 25 organizations. We would not have been able to complete these assessments without them.”

For more than 40 years, HandsOn Suburban Chicago has been inspiring, equipping and mobilizing people to volunteer and take action that builds vibrant and prosperous communities.

HOSC recruits and refers 10,000 volunteers annually to more than 200 member agency nonprofits and schools, and provides other support to local charitable organizations, such as consultations and trainings.

A nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency and part of the national HandsOn Network, HOSC service area includes 44 core communities in the Chicago area and a population of over 1.4 million residents.
