At least Obama not using Bush tactics

At least Obama not using Bush tactics

Let’s see if I have this correct: the interventionists represented by John McCain, Lindsey Graham, John Bolton, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney are critical of President Obama for urging a limited airstrike again Syria because they want “boots on the ground” to degrade the Assad’s capabilities and tilt the civil war toward the insurgents; the isolationists are opposed to the president’s recommendations to Congress unless he can muster a coalition of allied nations to give him cover; and the libertarians like Rand Paul don’t want a Federal government capable of doing anything.

So once again, President Obama is surrounded by critics who have no solutions except to say the president is wrong. And, of course, if history is a guide, whatever he does will risk “mission creep” and getting mired in another quagmire like Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan. But, at least he isn’t twisting the intelligence information because he wants to invade Syria like former President Bush did in Iraq.
