‘Bridge The Gap’ 5K Walk/Fun Run Sept. 28

Join The Bridge Youth & Family Services as they walk and run “to ensure that no family walks alone,” at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Community Consolidated District 15 building.

New this year is a Corporate Challenge. Local businesses are encouraged to register as many people on their team as possible. The corporate team with the most people registered wins one of The Bridge’s annual sponsorships valued at $2,500. The sponsorship package includes half page, full color ads in event program books, company name on signage, and tickets to the annual gala and golf outing.

Registration is open online at walkregistration.bridgeyouth.org. Participants are given an online fundraising page where they can set their fundraising goals, write a letter to their supporters, and collect donations. Kids under 5 are free to participate and The Bridge offers a special rate for families who want to join in on the fun. Preregistration is open until Sept. 21. Everyone who preregisters is guaranteed a goodie bag item.

Top runners in each age category will receive prizes. All participants will be eligible for a free drawing for every $50 they fundraise for The Bridge.

The Bridge’s goal for this event is to raise $12,000 in hopes of “bridging the funding gap” for clients who cannot afford to pay for the counseling, crisis intervention and prevention services provided by The Bridge.
