Hospital offers clinic for amputees

Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin is offering a free clinic geared toward individuals who have experienced limb loss and for those currently wearing prosthetic limbs.

Join their talented team of comprehensive rehabilitation specialists to learn how to achieve optimal health and function as an amputee from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, in the fourth-floor rehab gym at the hospital, 77 N. Airlite St. Refreshments will be provided.

Consult with a nutritionist diabetic educator, an occupational therapist,

a registered nurse, and a licensed clinical social worker.

Services include:

Ÿ Gait analysis with a physician, physical therapist and prosthetist;

Ÿ Obtain printed resources and pamphlets;

Ÿ Learn about links to pertinent websites, surfing the Internet for practical information;

Ÿ Enjoy fellowship and socializing.
