Cardinal celebrates 50th anniversary of St. Thomas of Villanova school
Cardinal Francis George, archbishop of Chicago, joined students, families and parishioners of St. Thomas of Villanova in Palatine to celebrate the parish school’s 50th anniversary.
The cardinal celebrated Mass Saturday evening and then planned to attend a celebration at the school afterward.
George will make a second visit to the Northwest suburbs today when he will celebrate a Mass in Elk Grove Village honoring first responders.
The Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. at Queen of the Rosary Parish, 750 Elk Grove Blvd. Mayor Craig Johnson, along with police, fire and paramedic personnel are expected to attend.
