Arraignment for terror suspect on other charges

A teenager who is already facing terrorism charges for allegedly trying to bomb a downtown Chicago bar will be arraigned on new charges after authorities say he tried to have an undercover FBI agent killed.

Adel Daoud is scheduled to appear in a Chicago federal court Friday, a week after prosecutors announced the new charges. The 19-year-old Hillside man is expected to enter a not guilty plea.

The new charges include solicitation of murder. While behind bars, investigators say he tried to arrange to kill an agent who prosecutors say played a role in the sting that led to his 2012 arrest.

He’s been in jail since then for trying to ignite what he thought was a car bomb outside the bar. He pleaded not guilty in that case.
