Barrington golfers join Salvation Army's "Hope Fore Kids" Golf Classic

The Salvation Army held its 10th Annual “Hope Fore Kids” Golf Classic at The Glen Club, 2901 W. Lake Avenue in Glenview, on Tuesday, September 3. The tournament included a full day of leisure activities. Beginning with a golf clinic hosted by professional golfers, followed by lunch and golf with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., the tournament also featured a variety of contests and prizes. The event culminated in an evening beverage reception and dinner that included a live auction and awards program.

This year's event was presented by Bandon Dunes and KemperSports.

The event attracted 128 golfers from Chicagoland's business and philanthropic communities, including Barrington, and raised nearly $200,000 toward The Salvation Army's youth programs, which include child care, before-school and after-school programs, art, music and educational instruction, emergency shelter, character-building programs and other recreational activities.
