Kiwanis Peanut Day coming up in Des Plaines
Members of Des Plaines Kiwanis will observe Peanut Day Friday, Sept. 27, and Saturday, Sept. 28, with volunteers seeking donations that benefit the community’s young people, senior citizens and social services.
The Des Plaines Kiwanis Foundation shares 100 percent of the net proceeds with organizations in the community. Kiwanis Club members remind the community that a case of peanuts (100 packs) may be purchased for $50 by calling Peanut Day Chairman Linda Traina at (847) 391-5090.
The Kiwanis Club was chartered 73 years ago as a member of Kiwanis International, “a global organization of members of every age who are dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.”
