Joy of the Game welcomes Deerfield Jr. Warriors feeder program
DEERFIELD, IL (SEPTEMBER 2013) – Joy of the Game, a renowned community sports facility servicing the Northern Suburbs and beyond, is proud to hold free skills clinic and tryouts for boys and girls for the Deerfield Junior Warriors Feeder Program. The season will kick off with a free skills clinic for boys and girls grades 3-8 from 9am-1:30pm on Saturday, September 7th. 5th through 8th grade girls will have the court from 9-10:15am, 3rd through 5th grade boys will have the court from 10:30-11:45am, and 6th through 8th grade boys will have the court from 12-1:30pm. Joy of the Game will then hold tryouts from Monday, September 9th and ending Monday, September 23rd for Deerfield Junior Warriors Feeder Program.
“Joy of the Game is focusing their efforts on getting kids involved and interested in the game of basketball at a young age,” says Brian Davis, president and director of basketball operations at Joy of the Game. “Partnering with the local high schools is very important to us.”
Joy of the Game focuses on bringing enriching programs and events to their state-of-the-art facility that emphasize athletic ability, achievement and community involvement. The Deerfield Junior Warriors Feeder Program is apart of Joy of the Game's campaign to drive the joy back into playing the game. The coaches and staff are motivated to help players let their hope, compassion, collaboration and commitment to excellence shine through the sport of basketball.
Tryouts for 3rd through 5th grade boys will be held on Monday, September 9th from 5:30-7pm, and Thursday, September 12th from 5:30-6:30pm. Tryouts for 6th through 8th grade boys will be held on Wednesday, September 18th from 5:30-7pm, and Monday, September 23rd from 5:30-6:30pm. Tryouts for 5th through 8th grade girls will be held on Monday, September 9th from 7-8:30pm, and Thursday, September 12th from 7-8pm.
