Lake Zurich’s Rock the Block:

Lake Zurich plans to throw a street party in the village’s downtown Saturday, Sept. 14. Rock the Block will be on and along Main Street, between Church Street and Old Rand Road. Food trucks, cart vendors, live bands, full bar service, soft drinks, face painting and balloon art will be part of the bash from 6 to 11 p.m. There will be no admission charge, but drinks and food will be available for purchase. Village Trustee Jim Beaudoin said it’ll be a chance for the village to give residents and others an idea of the potential for a long-planned downtown redevelopment.
