Susan Poklop New Creative Corners Preschool Director

The Des Plaines Park District announced the appointment of Susan Poklop to the position of Creative Corners Terrific 3's Preschool Director effective August 28, 2013. Poklop has a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University and over ten years of experience teaching kindergarten in the public school system. “I am looking forward to helping the children become comfortable and confident in our classroom, and make new friends. Our first unit will be all about apples, which will lead us into fall. I simply can't wait to get started,” Poklop said.

A mother of three, Poklop is passionate about instilling a love of learning in children. She has lived in Palatine with her husband and sons, 14, 17,and 20. Her spare time is divided between her son's sporting events, cooking, baking, and reading. “The Park District is dedicated to providing a happy and nurturing atmosphere where all children can develop a positive self-image, learn important life skills, and build the foundation for their future educational endeavors, said Karyn Roth, Recreation Supervisor “Susan is a perfect fit with our Early Education team. Her teaching experiences will help promote the social, emotional, and cognitive development of the children in our preschool classes.”
