New PAC formed to support Republicans

SPRINGFIELD — A new political action committee has been formed to try to elect more Republicans to the Democrat-controlled Illinois House.

Among the wealthy Republicans supporting Reform PAC is businessman Bruce Rauner. He’s also running for Illinois governor in 2014.

The PAC’s organizers filed paperwork with the State Board of Elections on Monday.

Rauner is also chairman of the recently formed Committee for Legislative Reform and Term Limits.

The group supports term limits for legislators. It’s preparing to collect signatures to add a question about legislative term limits to the November ballot. Details are expected to be announced after Labor Day.

State Sens. Bill Brady and Kirk Dillard and Treasurer Dan Rutherford also are seeking the GOP nomination for governor.
