Bartlett police issue traffic advisories for Labor Day weekend

Submitted by the Bartlett police department

The Bartlett police department has issued two traffic advisories for this weekend.

Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route between 1 and 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, during the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Association Street Dance, as South Main Street will be closed from Railroad Avenue to the south entrance of village hall. Traffic will be diverted onto South Berteau Avenue from either Railroad or Devon avenues. On Sunday, Sept. 1, motorists may experience some traffic delays due to the Bartlett Lion's Club Labor Day Dash, which begins at 8 a.m.

The 5K/10K run/walk will start and finish on Railroad Avenue, just east of South Main Street. Other busy streets the race will affect include Prospect Avenue, South Bartlett Road, Western Avenue and Devon Avenue.

Police are asking drivers to be cautious of runners and walkers on the roadways. For information on the street dance, visit bartlettvolunteerfiredept.com. For information on the Labor Day Dash, visit www.bartlettlions.org.
